Matt's Log Number 2

Hello good log-readers. Nikki's sleeping right now, and I can understand why. She tells me she couldn't sleep last night because of today, and I get that. Today was always going to be sort of a make it or break it scenario. Even with that ultrasound a couple days ago, there was a chance the heart might be improperly formed. There was a chance of any number of other things too. I don't know, even hearing from everybody else that things were looking fantastic, it didn't hold much weight until today's super-ultrasound.

Bean has all four chambers of a very strong, very healthy heart. Thank God. I was shaking in the waiting room before we went in, and I knew it was because I was nervous since I had only had two sips of coffee by that point. It was crazy. Bean is healthy and moving around all over the place and having the time of his life in there. And Bean is pretty definitively a boy too, which makes me smile every time I write or say or even think it. Again, I would love to have a little girl too, but knowing that I'll probably be sitting here with a son in 6 months has me giddy as hell. I think of the relationship I have with my Dad and can't wait to make that same relationship with Bean.

This kid is going to be so cool! He's going to be so loved and be around so many different people and be so spoiled by me. I'm thinking hockey jerseys and Spider-Man masks on him. And I know Nikki may be a little upset with me for this, but I don't care. I need to let everyone know what Bean's REAL name is going to be. When he enters this world next year, we will all be calling him...............drum roll.............................................................................................................................................................................................................
