Matt's Log Number 4

I just really wanted to say that I've felt Jack. But we're going to Tarantino this post so you can all come on this journey with me, so let's go back. I started asking Nikki in the first month when I would be able to feel the baby move, and she kept on telling me later, or soon, or some variation. So I patiently waited, content with going to the appointments and finding out that he was developing just like every baby should. Then it got to the point where even that wasn't enough though - I needed more! So I kept asking, and getting the same responses from Nikki. Over the past several weeks, however, it's gotten much more annoying from my perspective. I would ask how Nik was feeling, and she would say that Jack was rolling around, or pushing and moving...but she could only feel it on the inside.
Okay, so I was fine with that for a couple days, but then it seemed as if both of them were mocking me. Every day I would be told that Jack was rolling up a storm, or dancing around, and I was sure that they were in on this together, planning to really make a show of it when I wasn't around. Sometimes, I even wondered if Nikki was just lying to me so she could have this whole situation all to herself! So finally, FINALLY!, a could nights ago we were laying in bed and Nik said that he was moving a lot that day, and she had felt him kick from the outside (just to be clear, Jack didn't kick Nikki from the outside, she just felt that kick that came from the inside on the outside because her hand was on the outside when he kicked inside). Anyway, she suggested I feel for him because he might do it again. After a minute, he kicked right under my hand! So now I can finally be included in this whole thing, rather than being the odd man out. It feels great to be part of the team now. And on a serious note to close, that moment was one of the more surreal and fantastic ones in this pregnancy. I cannot wait to feel him kick me again.
