Do you think baby will be a girl or boy?

April 10, 2010

A fun survey...

Last night while I was bored on bedrest, I perused a few other pregnancy blogs that I usually read. While on one, I found this pregnancy survey on a reader’s blog and thought it would be fun to do since we are nearing the end of this pregnancy.

Hopefully you find it equally interesting…

How did you find out you were pregnant? By taking a home pregnancy test, of course :)

What kind of Pregnancy test did you take? Clearblue

How many? Just one

What were your 1st symptoms? Tiredness and Nausea (fun!)

Who did you tell first? Matt

Who was with you when you found out? Matt

My 1st reaction: Big smile, very excited :)

Was your baby planned? Yes

When was the baby conceived? The dates say my birthday...

How far were you when you found out? 4 weeks (technically 2 but doctors add 2 weeks...it's complicated and you'll know what I mean one day...)

How did your parents react? Super excited.

Due Date: May 14, 2010

Do you know the sex? A fabulous little boy

Any names? Jack...we have a middle name but we aren't sharing

Any Ultrasounds? One dating ultrasound (8 weeks). One NT ultrasound (at 12 weeks). Two at 18 weeks (anatomy ultrasound and fetal echo), one at 28 weeks (the 3D one!), biophysical profile ultrasound at 35 weeks.

Have you heard the heart beat? Of course we have! We hear it at every appointment and I never tire of it.

Who do you think it will look like? No clue...I hope he has traits of both of us.

Will the baby have siblings? A big brother (Zachary) watching over him and hopefully younger siblings in time.

Have you felt the baby move? He moves all of the time. Best. Feeling. In. The. World.

Did you have morning sickness? Ugh, yes. It sucks and is really ALL DAY sickness, forget this morning crap.

Did you have any cravings? McDonalds for a while, ice cream, Mr.Sub, Egg salad sandwiches, orange juice like crazy, crackers...the list goes on

Did you have any mood swings? Of course...poor matt.

Are you a high risk pregnancy? Yes (because of everything with Zachary and the blood pressure issues before) and then we added Gestational Diabetes to the mix...fun!

Any complications? Blood pressure has been on the rise so it looks like we'll be induced soonish.

Formula or Breastfeeding? We're (I'm) going to try breastfeeding to save some cash and b/c it's good for Jack...we'll see how things go!

Have you bought anything for the baby yet? A few things here and there...we have a lot leftover from Zachary and we are getting gifts from people often which is lovely :)

When did you start to show? Around 16 weeks or so...Matt thinks earlier but I think I just looked "large" then.

How long could you wear your regular clothes? Regular pants were replaced EARLY around 7 weeks (it was more for comfort than anything since I felt bloated) and shirts were replaced around 22 weeks (only because I was waiting for a coupon to use at the maternity store to be valid lol...at that point i only had 2 shirts that fit...)

Will you keep the baby’s clothes? yep, until we are done having kids but i still want to keep a few things here and there.

Home or Hospital? Hospital. I feel much more comfortable knowing that if something happens I am in the right place and they can take care of it right away.

Natural or Medicated birth? Oh I will almost definitely be getting an epidural again...

Who will be in the delivery room with you? Matt :)

Do you think you will need a C-section? I hope not but you never ever know.

Will you cry when you hold the baby for the 1st time? Probably.

What’s the 1st thing you might say to the baby? Who knows...hi?

Will you let anyone video tape the birth? No, no video - but pictures (not of the action) would be awesome though I think we'll end up *attempting* to take them ourselves lol

Are you excited? Yes...this kind of seems like a dumb question to me.

Who will help you with the baby after the birth? Matt. I definitely know I want the first day back from the hospital to be just the two of us, visitors can come any time after that first day (and visitors are more than welcome at the hospital lol). I just want a day that we can focus just on Jack and start getting to know him ourselves :)

What is your favorite thing about being pregnant? Feeling the baby move. I love it!

What is the worst thing about being pregnant? Where should I start? Feeling large, morning sickness, frequent (and I mean ALL THE TIME) bathroom trips, pregnancy brain, and I’ll stop there - things aren't pretty after that lol.

What’s one thing you miss doing since being pregnant? Being able to take medication when I'm sick...

Any days you wish you were not pregnant? Nope.

Are you ready for a baby? Ready as we'll ever be!

Do you have insurance? Yes. OHIP covers almost everything though (Oh how I love being Canadian)

How many kids do you want? We’ll see how this one goes. Ideally I'd like one of each but would like 3...we shall see

Do you talk to the baby? Yep, and so does Matt...a lot :)

Do you still feel attractive? Sometimes yes, lots of times no...lol depends on the day

Have you had your baby shower yet? We had one with friends, thanks to W&D for hosting and I think another is being planned for after Jack arrives :)

Do you like kids? Love them.

How far along are you now? 35 weeks 2 days

The time is coming!

Much Love :)

DID YOU BUY THINGS FOR THE BABY. There is no "a little" about that statement. When you have a stroller that can be literally single handedly dismantled, that attaches like some kind of power ranger transformer, and when you have a baby cradle that can rotate 360.. that is not a little!

lol we bought the stroller but pretty much everything else was gifted to us :)
