Do you think baby will be a girl or boy?

January 29, 2010

Dear Jack...

Wow. Can you believe it has already been 25 weeks, it feels like it's flown by! I remember seeing you on the ultrasound when you just looked like a tiny bean like it was yesterday. I guess the old saying is really true, time flies when you're having fun!

I must say that as each day passes I get more and more excited (which I never thought possible) to meet you. I know Daddy is excited too and while your kitty cat Loki has no idea what's going on she does snuggle by you every so often so we'll say she's excited too. We can't wait to see you and hold you and see life through your eyes - because things always seem so much more wonderful from a child's point of view. I hope you will be happy, no matter what you decide to do, I just want you to be happy.

I think about you all the time (probably because you kick me all the time, but that's ok). I always wonder if you'll look more like daddy or me, or just a big mix of both of us. I wonder what your favourite things to do will be, will you like spider-man? and will you enjoy having your picture taken? I wonder what you will want to be when you grow up. Everything is a mystery right now, but not for long. Only 15 short weeks until we get to meet you...though only 12 more until we are full term.

I love all the time I get to feel you move around but my favourite part of the day is right before bed, you get super wiggly and you, me, and daddy just sit and talk and feel you move. It's magical and the look on your daddy's face could make me well up with tears each and every time he feels you. Speaking of your dad, I just wanted to tell you how amazing he is. I’m sure you’ll figure that on your own when you finally get to meet him. You know, I really lucked out with finding such a great guy. I won't get all mushy, but just know that you have an amazing dad. He does everything in his power to make sure that I’m happy and I know that it will increase so much with you. He's so excited and so proud to be your dad.

I do have one request little man...I need you to do one thing for me when you do decide to join us out here. I just want you to take your time. You only get to be little for so long and I want you to enjoy every minute of it. So jump in all the puddles and swing on all the swings. Don't be afraid to get dirty (I don't mind, that's what laundry machines are for anyways)and just enjoy the little things in life. Don't grow up too quickly because it will go by fast enough I’m sure.

I love you. I always will.

Nikki,

This is such a beautiful little letter. Truly warmed my heart. Jack is going to be the luckiest of kids. To have a mom and dad who are so in love with each other and in love with him is the best gift you could possibly give.

You guys are amazing and I love you all so much.

Smiling from ear to ear with joy for you guys.

Keep these coming. With much much much love,

Mary
