So apparantly Jack likes to make me look like a fool...
Alrighty, so today was an off day. It just didn't "feel" right (I don't know any other way to describe it). To start with I had crazy swollen fingers (which was new as of this morning) and ankles to the point where there was a thought of actually cutting my ring off...luckily I didn't have to. Then I just felt kinda ill all day and noticed that Jack wasn't really moving around when he normally does. I'm not one to panic so I went about the day and just kept a close eye on movement...by the time Matt came home I had only felt Jack twice (again, not normal) so I decided to have some juice and lay down and do some kick counting - hoping the juice would wake him up. It didn't. Now I was concerned...so I called the hospital and they told me to come in for a non-stress test (basically they monitor the baby's heart rate, my blood pressure, baby movement, and contractions). Off we went.
Well it turns out Jack is as much of a joke-ster as Matt because as soon as we were hooked up to the monitors he started kicking away...and not little kicks either, we both watched as he tried to kick the monitors right off. His heart rate was perfect and fluctuating exactly how it should be, there was TONS of movement, NO contractions (wasn't expecting any), and my blood pressure was a touch high at the beginning (likely due to stress) but was fine the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th time they did it (even lower than my normal). All in all, I feel that Jack wanted to make me look like a fool...but it's okay. We are all very relaxed now and the on-call OB even said that if the same thing happens again don't second guess myself and always come in -- which made me feel better.
Anywho...that was our excitement for the evening :)
Much Love
